(1) When an emergency has been declared, a person who does not hold a license issued by the Board, but who does hold a Board recognized national medical imaging credential that is current and in good standing, may apply for a Permanent Initial License from the OBMI. Under a declared emergency, the Board may modify the timing of the required fingerprinting or other established licensure processes in order to assist healthcare response to the emergency circumstances.
(2) An Emergency may be declared by the Governor, Board chair or the executive director.
(3) With the exception of the timing of the fingerprint based background check, this license is subject to all other statutes and rules regarding applications and licensure, including fees.
(4) The Board may run a LEDS check before issuing the license, but the license may be issued without a fingerprint background check. Licensees must submit fingerprints to the Board within one month of the issuance of the license unless the Licensee has obtained an extension from the Board administrator for additional time to submit fingerprints for a full background check. Failure to comply with the one month or extended deadline, if granted, for the fingerprint check may result in disciplinary actions, up to and including civil penalties and revocation.
